‘’The term ‘Black Gold’ originated as an oil to riches phrase in Texas. But amongst the barbecue world it's a known saying that is synonymous with the true craftsmanship that is - Texas Barbecue. An idiom that’s been shared between pit masters and the BBQ scene alike. Referring to the salt and peppery bark smoked meats that are affectionately held at the pinnacle of our native state. Paired up with a smokey bourbon, an infused tequila margarita flight, or one of your favorite local Austin craft beers is how we roll in Texas. Aspiring to create unforgettable moments with one another is what Black Gold will be built on. The Austin social scene thrives on that way of living. Two elements that bring those ideas to the table are remarkable cuisine and an impeccable spirits program. Demonstrating both culture and class simultaneously. Well crafted meats paired with carefully concocted libations are all the rage in this town right now. We didn’t just want to open yet ANOTHER smokehouse for Austin. It’s time to level up.
